Oil On Paper Technique........

An original one of a kind piece by Doug Forsythe. Each piece was painted using a technique that was developed over time to enable the artist to freeform paint on rag paper using oil paint. A combination of several techniques oil, watercolor and intaglio were combined to produce a unique technique.

The imagery produced using this technique enables the artist to use the blending quality of oil and fluidity of watercolor in his painting.

Like watercolor the paint uses the white of the paper to reflect through the transparent oil paint. The oil paint is thined with mineral spirits and can run and bleed jusk like watercolor. Like oils slow drying time, it is poasabe to blend the colors as desired.
